Cars vroom in for local enthusiasts

For Father’s Day, the Sheriff Officers Association Widows’ and Children’s Fund will be holding its annual car show swap and meet. The event will take place in Merrick, New York, not too far from Island Park, near the town’s LIRR station.

The day allows participants to meet and swap their cars to try them out. There will also be a motorcycle run for those who enjoy bikes, as well as a car dyno that people will be allowed to use for an additional fee.

For those bringing family members, there will be other activities on hand to participate in and enjoy. Vendor booths will be open and selling a variety of items and different foods. There will be live musical entertainment for the guests, and rides and other activities set up for children.

The fund officially began in 2007 and is a non-profit organization that uses its takings to support the families of Nassau County Corrections Officers who become ill or injured and cannot work, as well as the families of those who lose their lives in the line of duty.

The organizers for this event could very well look to printing companies for their advertising. More participants will mean more income for the organization, and using flyers or promotional posters to get the word out is a cost-efficient way to showcase this great event.

It will run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on June 16, and there is a $20 admission fee on the day of the event, or $15 to though who register beforehand.
