The CIA’s Black & White with a Splash of Red Dinner

December 14, 2012 by

This coming weekend, the CIA will be hosting a charity dinner for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. It’s not a spy dinner, but rather a dinner put together by the graduating class of 2013 from the Culinary Institute of America. The event is being dubbed “Black & White with a Splash of Red” and guests are expected to wear black and white semi-formal attire.

The dinner will take place on Saturday, December 15th on the CIA’s campus in Hyde Park, New York. Guests are welcome to attend a cocktail hour that begins at 6:00 p.m. and will feature specialty cocktails along with wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres. The dinner begins at 7:15 p.m. and will be a four course meal with wine pairings. The Big Band Sound will be performing until 11:00 p.m. that evening, and there will be a dance floor for anyone who wants to show off his or her moves. There will also be an auction that guests can participate in. Prizes include gift certificates to famous New York restaurants, cookbooks from famous chefs, and even tickets to a New York Giants game.

Admission for the dinner is $85 with additional charges for tax and gratuity. All proceeds from the dinner will be given to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief fund as well as the CIA Chef McCue Side Towel Scholarship Fund.

It is possible that the CIA might hire a print company to create flyers or posters to get the word out about this event. With two great causes to support, they will want as big of an attendance as they can get.
