This weekend, the Patchogue Doll Fanciers Club of Long Island will be holding its annual Doll, Teddy Bear and Collectible Toy Sale and Competition. It looks set to be the perfect event for anyone who is serious about dolls and collectibles, both antique and modern. The competition provides the opportunity for people to see some rare and unique dolls from personal collections.
The Doll Competition is the main feature of the event. Dolls entered for the competition will be on display between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. When the dolls are judged, they will be awarded ribbons for first through third place, and there will also be awards given to special categories. During the viewing period, there will be members of the club on hand to discuss the dolls on display and answer any questions guests might have.
Aside from the competition, there will also be vendors from all over the northeast selling collectibles at the event. Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase dolls sold by people from New Jersey, New England, and Pennsylvania.
Organizers may look to brochure printing companies to create informational pamphlets for the competition or the sellers. Catalogs like these can allow shoppers to quickly browse the inventories of a vendor or learn interesting facts about displays.
The event runs from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm this Sunday, January 12 at the UPSKY Long Island Hotel in Hauppauge, New York, not far from Huntington. Admission is $7 or $6 for seniors. Children under 12 can enter for free. Profits from the show will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House.
