Flute Choir pipes up with a festive performance
December 1, 2012 by Sarah
This afternoon, December 1, the Long Island Flute Club (LIFC) Holiday Flute Choir will be holding its first performance of the holiday season at the United Methodist Church of Lake Ronkonkoma in Lake Grove, New York. The group will be playing several holiday favorites, including a number of selections from The Nutcracker. This performance will surely be a must-see for anyone who enjoys Christmas music and is excited to hear a different take on it.
This event is free to attend, but guests are asked to make a donation that will be used for relief efforts directed towards those still recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Sandy. It will begin at 3:00 pm today and run until around 4:30 pm.
The LIFC could very well call on print companies to help them promote this event. Flyers could be handed out after church meetings leading up to the event in order to remind people about it. The choir may also look to spread promotional material further afield, to nearby towns like Hauppauge and Farmingville, or areas that are slightly more distant, like Manorville, Dix Hills, or Huntington.
Though this is an annual event, the LIFC could also call on print companies to create informational brochures for attendees to inform them about where their donations are being sent. It may also want to inform people about other ways that they could volunteer or donate to help those who are still in need during this holiday season, as well as any future events it has planned.
