Hewlett home to new care center

Dr. Larry Kessler and Dr. Scott Flashner, two certified emergency medicine physicians, recently announced that they have opened an urgent care facility, ER-DOX, in Hewlett, They are most likely using business card printing to publicize information about their new facility.

The two doctors decided to open the practice, which is the second urgent care facility in the Five Town area, when Brunswick Hospital in Amityville closed its doors and they were concerned that the emergency needs of patients would not be met. It is their third practice, in addition to locations in Amityville and Massapequa, and its hours will be from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm seven days a week.

No appointments are necessary at the practice, and a variety of procedures will be conducted at the facility, including X-rays, stitches, minor surgical procedures such as the removal of foreign bodies from the skin, injury management, and testing for a range of diseases. Lab work will be able to be carried out on the site as well.

According to Kessler, the new location shows a great commitment to providing access to urgent and general health care in the neighborhood. The goal of the practice is to have a facility at which patients can feel comfortable, get the healthcare they need without an appointment, and be seen in a timely fashion so that they can continue with what they need to do during the day. The doctors hope that the stresses of the little emergencies in life can be treated and provided security and peace of mind for both children and adults.
