Get grooving in Hewlett

May 30, 2012 by

On Thursday, June 14, “Feelin Groovy” will be held at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library located at 1125 Broadway Street in Hewlett, New York. This event will take place from 7:30 pm.

Residents and friends of the library are invited to come to watch, listen to, and enjoy “Feelin Groovy – Walking the Line,” which is a tribute performance celebrating Johnny Cash’s 80th Birthday. The lead guitarist for this event is Long Island’s Tom Cavanaugh, who is also the main guitar player for the Broadway production “Rock of Ages”.

Cavanaugh will be the head of this performance with a full seven-piece band, which includes three of Carter Sisters providing the background harmony. During this performance, the audience will enjoy a complete retrospective, from his very first song right through to his last album, in the original key. The audience are bound to hear some of their favorites from the folk legend, including Folsom Prison Blues, I Walk the Line, Boy Named Sue, Ring of Fire, and several other instantly recognisable numbers which will have attendees singing and dancing along. The event is being co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Stationery printing for this wonderful tribute performance has probably been prepared by the local printer as part of the promotion package. District residents and Friends of the Library may pick up their tickets starting tomorrow (Wednesday, May 30), at 10:00 am or 7:00 pm. For additional information about this event, including ticket prices, please visit the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library website or call 516-374-1967.
