African rhythm to be heard near Hewlett

For those who want to try something a little bit different, Layla’s Dance and Drum, in Valley Stream, New York, will be offering a special West African dance class with live drumming in the very near future.

Lamine Thiam will be teaching a class for beginners who want to learn about the dance style and intermediates who want to brush up on their skills. Thiam is a famous West African drummer, dancer, and choreographer. He teaches several dance styles like Djembe, Bougarrabou, and Sabar. The class costs $10 for registered students and $15 for any walk-ins.

Layla’s Dance and Drum is a studio that focuses on teaching Latin, African, and Caribbean dance. Classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings as well as on Saturdays and Sundays, with classes aimed at children taught specifically during the day on Saturdays. The studio will certainly want to drum up interest (pardon the pun) in such a famous teacher and draw in more attendance for his classes.

Print companies could help get the word out about Layla’s Dance and Drum classes. Flyer printing companies create cheap and effective promotional tools that can be handed out in Valley Stream and other nearby parts of Long Island such as Hewlett or Oceanside. Brochure or catalog printing companies could also be a great help to the studio.

The upcoming session is scheduled to take place next Wednesday, May 29, and the dance class has its own Facebook page for those who want to keep abreast of its programs.
