Yard Sale for Wildlife
April 21, 2012 by Sarah
On Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th, the Sweetbriar Nature Center will be holding “Yard Sale for Wildlife” at its headquarters located at 62 Eckernkamp Drive in Smithtown, New York, which is located just down the road from Hauppauge, New York. This event will begin at 10am and end at 3pm.
The Sweetbriar Nature Center is holding a massive yard sale to support their mission by raising money through the sale of donated items. The mission of this organization is to provide educational information to the public and wildlife rehabilitation to injured or sick animals. Currently, the Sweetbriar Nature Center is accepting donations of items including collectibles, knick knacks, antiques, household items, or any other items that weigh less than fifty pounds. All items donated should be in good condition. Please no toys or games, unless they have never been opened, and no books or clothing.
The Sweetbriar Nature Center is a private, non-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to provide educational awareness to the citizens of Long Island. The center is on fifty-four acres of woodland, wetland, and meadow along the Nissequogue River and is home to hundreds of different species of animals and plants. The center’s educational programs are designed to show, through hands-on activities, why animals and plants require the respect of all visitors.
Stationery printers may have prepared some of the materials used at this facility for teaching purposes. This event is free.
