After nine months under construction, L.A. Fitness is now scheduled to open at the end of this month. Located at 122 E. Main Street in the Branch Shopping Center between Hauppage and Smithtown, the 45,000-square foot gymnasium will go into the gap left by Waldbaums.

Bill Horner, spokesperson for L.A. Fitness, stated the new facility will feature a sauna, whirlpool, cardio room, racquetball courts, a full-sized basketball court, and Kids Klub Babysitting services.

Pre-sale of gym memberships started on August 24 at an pre-enrollment center at 81 Route 111, Smithtown.

In addition to being welcomed by health-conscious residents, the local business community also gets excited when a new company joins their ranks. The neighborhood print company sees a potential customer for their brochure printing services, while a laundry sees lots of towels in need of a wash.

L.A. Fitness originated in California. Started in 1984, the business has steadily grown and now boasts gyms across the country.

According to the company’s website, each center offers programming designed to fit with the community in which it is located. Emphasis is placed on giving the customer a great fitness experience at an affordable price. The company prides itself on providing a fun atmosphere and effective workout options suitable for members of all ages.

With a wide range of amenities and highly-trained staff, L.A. Fitness is confident residents in the Hauppage area will soon be happily getting and staying in shape with them. Given the healthy lifestyle messages so prominent across the country, L.A. Fitness has good reason to be optimistic about their business prospects at this latest location.
