Craft expo will highlight area artisans

‘Handmade: a Craft Expo in the Park’ is taking place this October in Locust Valley. It is hosted by Preferred Promotions, which holds many craft shows throughout the area all year long.

The expo will feature artisans and local merchants. All items must be handmade or assembled in the United States. Those who wish to sell their works at the expo must first submit pictures of their work. Space can be rented for $125 for artisans or $175 for a corner booth, while business rates are $295. There will be many different items for sale, including paintings, clothing, jewelry, ceramics, and food. It will be a good opportunity for those attending to get a headstart on holiday shopping for friends or loved ones.

The show will also be a great way for local artisans to make their name known in the community. Artisans will include those who have years of experience and already have a successful business, or those who are just taking their first steps in selling their work.

This event is sure to bring in visitors from all around the area, including nearby Glen Cove. Local print companies will no doubt be asked to provide materials like flyers to spread the word to the community.

The event will take place at Thomas Park in Locust Valley on October 13 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, and the rain date is October 14. To find out more about this event and any upcoming craft shows, contact Rachel Frislid at 631-563-8551.
