Annual show set to bring toy fanciers together

December 17, 2013 by

The 38th annual Doll, Teddy Bear and Collectible Toy Show and Sale is taking place in Hauppauge in a few weeks, and is a presentation of the Patchogue Doll Fanciers Club of Long Island.

Dealers from across the East Coast are expected to make their way to the show, and they will be selling a variety of items including doll-making supplies, pop culture collectibles and antique toys, dolls, and many teddy bears. It might be just the place to find that elusive item needed to complete a prized collection.

There will also be a doll competition held during the day, which is open to the general public; prizes are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons and honorable mentions. Food and beverages can be purchased at the show as well.

Part of the proceeds from this annual event will go to support local Long Island charities such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House.

The show should attract visitors from all over the area, including nearby Glen Cove. It is likely that local printing companies will be asked to help with advertising by providing services such as flyer printing.

The show is taking place at the Sheraton Long Island Hotel on January 12 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and free to children aged younger than 13. Those who would like to find out more can call Marsha at 631-543-3499 or Helen at 631-282-3799.
