Forest Hills folk ready to dust off their running shoes

This weekend, the 5K Walk/Run for Wildlife and Conservation fundraiser will provide people with the chance to accomplish a personal goal while raising funds for a very worthy cause. Poster and banner printing has most likely been used to promote this great fundraising event to people in this community and in the surrounding areas.

This active event is open to people of all ages and is a gentle yet scenic walk to help raise funds for the benefit of HOBA’s conservation initiatives and programs. As part of this event, Senator Carl Marcellino and Brian Zimmerman from Nassau County’s Soil and Water Conservation District will be honored for their efforts towards conservation in the area.

All registrants will receive a T-shirt commemorating the walk/run, and those who raise $50 or more will have their registration fees waived, plus have a chance to win gift certificates from local restaurants and merchants valued at $250. Participants who generate more than $100 will be entered into a draw for Pentax DCF SP 8×43 binoculars, which retail at $649.

Registration costs and forms can be found online. The 5K Walk/Run for Wildlife and Conservation Fundraiser will be occurring on Saturday, September 28, starting at 9:30 am at the Planting Fields Arboretum located at 1395 Planting Fields Road in Oyster Bay, New York, just down the road from Forest Hills. For additional information, please visit the Audubon Society website or call its offices during business hours.
