The New York YMCA, serving neighboring communities including Farmingdale, Fairport, Long Island, and Flushing, has posted its summer day camp program schedule.

The Y has a long and impressive 160-year history and has played a very important role in the region. The goal of continuing to grow and meet the needs of the community has been well-achieved many times over.

Programs are designed to focus on youth development and involvement, healthy living, and taking responsibility for social interaction. With reportedly over $54m dollars of programs offered free to the New York region and over 500,000 people touched through the programs, the YMCA is an integral part of the community.

Summer programs have always presented the opportunity for children to learn new skills, make new friends, enhance core values, and have a great time doing it all. Day camp programs are now available for registration.

There are many programs scheduled, including traditional camp during which enrollees participate in swimming, games, arts and crafts, reading, and field trips to local attractions.

Swim camp is offered to children of all levels of ability, who are taught skills and confidence in the water. Arts camp involves not only painting and drawing, but also performing arts and dance classes.

A popular camp program is the sports camps, in which soccer, tennis, basketball, and gymnastics are offered. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development are all vital components of this camp.

Local print companies are often involved in producing communication and promotional materials for youth activities like these.
