Farmingdale sweeps up with shopping competition

September 4, 2012 by

Shopaholics aged over 18 and living in or near Farmingdale may be tempted to check out the Back-to-School sweepstakes event just launched by Kimco Realty Corp. Kimco, a real estate investment trust, is the owner of Airport Plaza, located at Route 110 and Conklin Street in Farmingdale.

Kimco has made social networking sites the focus of its efforts to engage shoppers in a promotion that will net the winner a $1,000 shopping spree at any of the Airport Plaza stores.

Diane Agostinello, director of marketing and leasing services at Kimco, explained:

“The goal of this sweepstakes is to delight and engage shoppers.

“Kimco is taking innovative approaches to help drive foot traffic to its properties and improve the retail experience at its centers. Our social media strategies—from blogging to Facebook to Twitter and beyond—are continuing to open lines of communication between Kimco and its core audiences.”

This particular Kimco promotion began on August 20 and is in effect until September 20, although the company has several similar events planned throughout the coming year. Even ancillary businesses, such as the local print company that produces fliers and circulars for the stores of Airport Plaza, are sure to applaud this type of marketing campaign that takes advantage of new advertising platforms to meet old-fashioned retail goals and reach target customers.

A complete set of sweepstakes rules can be found on Kimco’s Airport Plaza Facebook page. As owner and operator of the largest North American portfolio of local and neighborhood shopping centers, Kimco Realty Corp is headquartered in New Hyde Park, New York.
