Fairport Fire Department blazes ahead with fundraiser
July 17, 2013 by Sarah
To help support ongoing firefighting and rescue operations in the area, the Fairport Fire Department has just kicked off its annual fundraiser.
The department is staffed with dedicated volunteers; over 70 firefighters from a community of over 25,000 residents in this New York region. Their duties involve responding to fires, as well as providing rescue services, along with emergency medical assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The previous year’s fundraiser generated enough money to upgrade supplies, equipment, and tools for the department’s operations. The fire department also maintains the Explorer Post program, educating the children in the community about firefighting and providing encouragement for them to consider the role as a future career.
This year, with contributions raised, the fire team will be able to continue the educational programs, as well as purchase more breathing devices in addition to a thermal imaging camera.
For any fundraising effort, it is important to relay the campaign to the public to enlist their support, and this can be done by working with a print company in handling projects such as flyer printing. Flyers are inexpensive and can be widely distributed throughout the city.
