People’s United to take over this month

With significant changes taking place within in the banking industry as well as the Huntington Township’s annual golf tournament just around the corner, it’s clear that the community of East Northport has a lot going on over the course of the next few weeks.

After buying out Citizens Bank and announcing its plans to take over months ago, People’s United is going to be offering supermarket banking to a number of New York residents. Expected to impact a total of 53 locations in New York, one of the branches affected by the upcoming change is the Jericho Turnpike Stop & Shop that’s based right here in East Northport.

Although it seem like Long Island is some distance away from Connecticut, People’s United already has some experience running Stop & Shop banking locations. While the take-over will undoubtedly be felt by Northport residents, customers can be assured that they’ll be in capable hands.

Speaking of plans coming to fruition, the Huntington Township will be hosting its 28th Annual Golf Outing on the 25th of June. Starting at 10:30 am and being held at the Indian Hills Country Club, this event is going to be about more than just playing a few rounds with two business owners receiving recognition this year. With sponsorship opportunities still available for the taking, local professionals also have the option of registering through the chamber and inquiring into various printing services ahead of time. This event is just around the corner, however, so those who are interested will need to sign up soon.
