Music and business still to come this month

Just a short ride from East Northport is this weekend’s Rock Village Festival at Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre.

The festival will be held from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Saturday, July 27. Live music by tribute bands will accompany more than 75 artists painting on site. Also available will be arts and crafts vendors, food tastings, free giveaways, and art and sculpture exhibits.

Tribute bands include Abraxas (a tribute to Santana), Soft Parade (The Doors), Seven Turns (Allman Brothers), Who’s Next (The Who), and Half Step (Grateful Dead), offering an interesting evening out for fans of any of these groups.

Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children aged 6 to 12 years. Kids aged five and younger are free. Sponsors are still needed for the event and can call (516) 323-4501 for more information.

After the music, it’s down to business on Tuesday, July 30, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, during which time the High Frequency Trading Leaders Forum will be held at Golden Networking, 919 Third Avenue in New York.

This forum will offer ‘Strategic and Tactical Insights for Investors, Traders and Brokers’. Information will be provided on how speed traders and investors and refine their competitive advantage.

Keynote speakers are Edgar Perez, author of ‘The Speed Trader’ and ‘Knightmare on Wall Street’, and Robert Cohen of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Both will no doubt be aware that it takes good print companies to make a book attractive and appealing to readers.
