To see in the weekend, music-minded Deer Park residents are bound to enjoy the drive to see Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry perform at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh.

Rascal Flatts is well-known throughout the world for its harmonious blend of music and vocals which is a blend of country and pop. The group, consisting of Joe Don Rooney and cousins Gary LeVox and Jay Demarcus, was formed in the late 1990s.

The Band Perry is a combination of pop, rock, and country blended into a contemporary sound. The group is made up of three siblings – Reid Perry playing bass guitar; Kimberley Perry on guitar, piano, and lead vocals and Neil Perry on drums, accordion, and mandolin.

The band has been performing publicly together since 2005 but appeared in various groups for years before that. In 2005, it became part of the New Faces of Country tour and, four years later, it was signed by the Republic Nashville label. The performance begins at 7:00 pm this Friday, May 31, and the theater is located at 1000 Ocean Parkway.

Also performing at the Nikon are Pitbull and possible poster printing icon Ke$ha at 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 1.

Ke$ha’s career is a dream come true for many singers. She was raised by her mom, dropped out of school at 17, and moved to Los Angeles to become a singer while working as a waitress. Success prevailed and her first album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard charts.
