On December 13th, 2011 and December 20th, 2011 The Long Island Business Networking Group will be holding a “Networking Meetup” and a “Holiday Networking Party” respectively.
Based just a short drive away from Deer Park in Plainview, Long Island Business Networking is a vibrant community of some 300 plus members. For the “Networking Meetup” taking place on the 13th, members are invited to attend an event that’s supposed to include food, raffle prizes, and lots of mingling. With 3 different networking groups attending, people planning to be there will have to RSVP soon as the event will be starting at 7:00 p.m. Cost at the door is $10.00.
The “Holiday Networking Event” combines the wonders of networking with the advantages of advertising for free. A long list of individuals and businesses were involved with this one and it’s already showing itself to be a promising event. Starting 6:00 p.m. at the Blue Lagoon on the 20th, the event organizer is already calling this the “…biggest, best Holiday Party of the Year…”. Attendees will definitely need to be on time for this one.
As their site reads “In today’s industries, it is generally “who you know” that tends to be just as important, if not more important than “what you know”.
Another helpful tip that appears in the group’s outline is to “bring plenty of business cards to exchange with people”. Given that there are some recommending networkers bring at least 50 copies, consulting with a local printing company about business card printing is great place to start with this group.
