Food lovers can travel on over to the Sayville Seafood Festival this weekend. The festival will be held at the Long Island Maritime Museum, 86 West Avenue in West Sayville, just 20 minutes from Deer Park.

The weekend will feature all types of seafood and live musical entertainment. Bands scheduled to perform include Evolution, Travis & the Longhorns, and a Journey tribute band. Arts and crafts will be available for purchase, and there will be plenty of fun for the kids with face painting, live action shows, and pony rides.

Admission is $8, and kids aged five and younger are free. Parking is free at the Baymebn Avenue Soccer Complex and a shuttle will transport patrons to the festival. It will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25, beginning at 10:00 am each day. For more information, call (631) 447-8679.

Also this weekend, a music and comedy show will be held at 7:30 pm on Saturday, August 24, at the Nest Bar to benefit the Theresa Durso Foundation. The bar is located at 382 East Meadow Avenue in East Meadow.

The foundation fulfills the wishes of brain tumor patients. Tickets are $25 for adults and $12.50 for children, seniors, and young adults.

Lastly, for rockers in the area, the band Cheap Trick will perform a concert at 8:00 pm this Saturday at the NYCB Theatre at 960 Brush Hollow Road in Westbury.

The band is known for its hits ‘I Want You to Want Me’ and ‘The Flame’, and has sold over 20 million records. Poster printing makes great souvenirs for fans of bands at gig nights.
