Buffalo residents have a new discussion series to enjoy
March 6, 2013 by Mark
Residents of Buffalo, New York, will have a chance to learn more about the people and companies that have had a significant impact on the city and the surrounding area.
The Buffalo History Museum will be presenting a series of discussions about the ‘Giants of Buffalo’. The discussions will highlight individuals and industries in Western New York who have been responsible for extraordinary advances in their fields. The first sessions in the series have been developed in conjunction with the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, and the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.
The talks kick off on Friday, March 15, with ‘Giants of Buffalo Radio’, featuring radio personalities Stan Roberts, Shane Gibson, Danny Neaverth, Joey Reynolds, and Sandy Beach. The program is designed using an informal chat format to enable audience members to interact with the celebrities, and hear the way their careers were influenced by their personal choices, the area of the country in which they work, industry practices, and the way things have changed over the years.
The series is planned to take place every year in the spring months of March, April, and May. John DiSciullo, who is the production and promotion director of WBBZ-TV, will moderate the lecture series. The April lecture, scheduled for the 19th of that month, will focus on music, and May’s subject will be sports.
Lecture organizers could work with brochure printers to devise programs that include the subject of the evening, as well as the celebrities’ biographies.
