Winter sports whoosh into Central Park this month

January 17, 2013 by

Winter Jam is scheduled to take place in Central Park later this month, after last year’s festival was cancelled due to “lack of winter.”

The winter festival will be shipping in tons of snow to spread throughout the park from Gore Mountain. Activities will include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and animal tracking. There will be a Lake Placid Snow Field, lessons in riding skis and snowboards, a Quidditch game, the Pride of New York Winter Market, live entertainment, and ski resort information booths.

A Doggie Snow Zone will also be handing out a treat bag to dogs while supplies last and will feature dog experts answering questions, vendors selling pet-related merchandise, a café, and a doggie snow park where dogs can roam off-leash. It really sounds like Winter Jam has something to offer to every member of the family.

This event draws quite a few people from the New York City area, including Brooklyn. Organizers of this annual event have no doubt been working with local printing companies to prepare. They will most likely be investing in banners to hang over different areas, as well as posters to advertise the event to the community. Vendors providing information on their various products and services might also be working with local brochure printers to provide them with literature that people can take home with them.

Winter Jam will take place on January 26 in Central Park from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information, call 212-360-1319.
