Murray Hill families invited to fun in Prospect Park

December 10, 2016 by

Even though winter may have arrived, residents of Murray Hill can still enjoy lots of outdoor fun close to home. The prospect Park Alliance has organized a set of family friendly activities to enjoy during the winter school recess period of December and January.

The programming, which has been designed to be both engaging and educational, will give those who participate an opportunity to learn about wildlife in winter. For example, Nature Exploration will teach all about what animals do to survive the winter cold, and it will be led by Alliance naturalists. Blooming Naturalists will see attendees take to the wooded areas of the park to watch birds in their natural habitat using binoculars, and they will also have an opportunity to craft their own button that reads “Official Blooming Naturalist”. Booklet printing can help to make an event like this even more fun by creating coloring books and other informational materials for the kids who take part.

In addition to all of this, Lefferts Historic House will be participating in the program by offering an afternoon of historic games and craft making. The cost to attend this activity is by donation, with a $3.00 being the suggested contribution.

More information about the Prospect Park Alliance’s schedule of winter recess activities, including which will be held on a particular day, can be obtained by visiting its website.
