Quartet swoop into New York on Sunday
July 4, 2012 by Mark
This Sunday, July 8, the Brentano String Quartet will be making an appearance at Ventian Theatre – Caramoor Festival located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road in Katonah, New York, just down the road from Bohemia.
Caramoor is metropolitan New York’s biggest annually operating outdoor music festival and functions yearly providing concerts, educational programs, and lectures. The Brentano String Quartet is one of the top-performing quartets around today, due to their rigor and uncompromising creativity. This is the 20th Anniversary celebration of this quartet, which has invited six live composers and requested that they write new pieces to reflect fragmentary works by past composers.
Entitled “Fragments: Connecting Past and Present”, this work has been a formidable task and the performance should offer a great chance to introduce your family to Al Fesco Sundays at Caramoor Festival. The audience will enjoy this terrific summer concert from the Picnic Lawns.
The Brentano String Quartet has appeared around the world with outstanding acclaim and positive reviews. Recently, the Quartet has made its way around the United States and Canada, as well as in Australia, Japan, and Europe in some of the world most wonderful acoustic venues. It also regularly participates in summer festivals, including some held in Aspen, Edinburgh, Finland, and, of course, Caramoor.
Tickets for the musical event are $10 per person and locals may see poster printing and flyer printing used to promote this prestigious performance to residents in the region. For more information, please visit Caramoor Festival’s website or call Caramoor’s box office at 914-232-1252.
