Touching play ready to hatch

Taking place next week, ‘Are You My Mother?’ is a live performance aimed at children who are in any class from Kindergarten up to Grade 3. The idea behind this program is to promote family relationships through literature – something that may have been promoted to those reside in the area through printing services.

The performance is being presented by ArtsPower and will last approximately 60 minutes. It is about the emergence of a baby bird from her shell, who expects to open her eyes and be greeted by her mother and her mother’s song. When the young bird opens her eyes, she sees or hears no mother bird and questions where she is and why she is here. With the assistance of a hen, cat, and dog, the baby sets out on a journey to find her mother.

This is a musical adventure based on the popular children’s picture book written by P. D. Eastman. The performance is being sponsored by the PNC Foundation and The Horizon Foundation of New Jersey.

The cost to attend the show is $9 per person. Are You My Mother? will be performed live on Saturday, February 6, at 10:00 am at the Algonquin Arts Theatre located at 60 Abe Voorhees Drive in Manasquan, New Jersey. This is only a short drive for those living in Wall Township and looking for entertainment.
