New Jersey retailers spending more to attract customers

December 30, 2011 by

New Jersey retailers in areas such as Wall Township have spent more on marketing and advertising in 2011 than in previous years. Many retailers believe that they have experienced a small boost in sales due to their increased advertising budgets.

Much of the extra advertising has been done using traditional mediums. For example many businesses have placed advertisements on television and radio. Stores that have big sales and discounts have also utilized printing services for the purpose of sending out flyers and vouchers.

Oddly enough many retailers have neglected online and mobile marketing opportunities. This may be because many of them believe that this method of advertising is still experimental. Businesses who have flat advertising budgets often do not have cash to test the waters with social media, online advertising and mobile phone marketing.

While there will always be room in the advertising market for traditional media, online campaigns will be more popular in the future. This is especially true for mobile marketing. As more and more people are using smart phones and iPads, businesses will need to learn how to utilize this technology. Many experts believe that a combination of both online and offline marketing methods will lead to higher sales overall.

At the end of the day businesses have to spend money in order to increase their brand recognition. Once they have done this, they will be able to attract regular shoppers. Those who can do this successfully will be in business for many years to come.
