Ensemble to run like clockwork this weekend

February 21, 2014 by

The Counterclockwise Ensemble is a percussion, strings, and guitar quintet that plays a selection of contemporary American style chamber music, and it will give a performance this weekend. This follows a rescheduling from January, due to bad weather on the original date.

The group considers itself to be a “classical crossover” group. Poster printing and flyer printing might have been used to promote this ensemble to people residing in this community and throughout the surrounding region.

Most of the compositions by the group are the work of guitarist Rich Stein. Music will includes selections composed by Gustav Holst and Aaron Copland. The group was originally created in 2003 to complete Stein’s ‘Unspoken’ CD. Today, the ensemble features Stein on guitar, Rebecca Perea on cello, Dr. Andrew Perea on viola and violin, Jim Mansfield on percussion, and Glen Saunders on bass. This promises to be an entertaining concert, featuring American and Irish folk music and much more.

This concert is free and everyone is invited to come. The Counterclockwise Ensemble will be performing live on Saturday, February 22, starting at 2:00 pm at the Wall Township Library located at 2700 Allaire Road in Wall Township, New Jersey. For more info about this group or to reserve a seat, please visit the library’s website or phone 732-449—8877 during normal hours.
