Walking at the heart of fundraising campaign

October 29, 2012 by

The 14th annual ‘Philadelphia Heart Walk’ has been arranged to raise funds for the American Heart Association to assist in the battle against cardiovascular disease and strokes, and to raise awareness about these diseases. Both are ranked among the top four causes of deaths in the Delaware Valley area.

The heart walk is open to anyone, although most people organize teams to participate or walk as part of a company initiative. Survivors are provided with red ball caps to wear while they participate in the heart walk, and walkers are provided a Heart Walk T-shirt with their registration after raising $100 in pledges.

Besides the walk itself, this event has additional activities for children and adults starting at 8:00 am. The opening ceremonies take place at 10:00 am but the actual walk does not start until half an hour later. The American Heart Association now has a Heart Wall available online and invites participants to upload a photo and share a story with others who visit this memorable wall.

Poster printing, brochure printing, and flyer printing may have been used to promote this fantastic fundraising opportunity to members of this community and neighboring communities. Registration is free and everyone is welcome to walk and raise funds. The Philadelphia Heart Walk will be happening on Sunday, November 4, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, just a short 15-mile drive from Turnersville, New Jersey. For updates, or to register, please visit the Philadelphia Heart Walk website or call 215-575-5218.
