All sorts of celebrations on their way to Somerville
November 21, 2012 by James
The traditional Somerville Holiday Jubilee is being sponsored by the ‘Downtown Somerville Alliance’ and opens this year with the arrival of Santa and the official tree lighting ceremony in the New Division Street Plaza. All families are encouraged to attend and enjoy music by the well-known Somerville Middle School Choir and Jazz Band.
After the official Santa arrival and tree lighting, guests are invited to stay in the downtown core and enjoy an evening of entertainment, including snacks, free gingerbread men and ladies, by the Dessert Plate, free hot chocolate by Verve, horse and carriage rides, and caroling.
The Somerville Jubilee also includes the annual Somerville Fire Truck Christmas Light Parade which takes place on Saturday, December 1 through the downtown, starting at 6:00 pm, and Ice Carving Demonstration on Saturday, December 8 at 5:00 pm, and photos with Santa on December 1, 8, and 22 at Central Pizzeria from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm – costing $3 each.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to advertise and promote the various events taking place at the Somerville Holiday Jubilee. Admission is free unless otherwise noted and everyone is welcome.
The Annual Somerville Holiday Jubilee kicks off this Saturday, November 24, at 5:30 pm at the New Division Street Plaza located in the downtown Somerville, New Jersey.
