Northvale families can enjoy local weekend hike
May 16, 2013 by Mark
The Family Woodland Hike is taking place close to Northvale this weekend and families from the community are invited to join those from Ringwood and enjoy an easy and very kid friendly-hike in the woodland gardens.
With information and learning to take place about animals, plants, and the geology that surrounds guests, there is plenty to be promoted through methods like flyer and poster printing in the run-up to the hike.
People of all ages will enjoy the fresh air, starting at the Carriage House Visitor Center, although if it rains this event will be postponed for another day. People will be able to view delicate wildflowers and mass annual plantings, as well as formal gardens and gentle pathways that wind through the grounds.
The park consists of 96 acres of special gardens and 1,000 acres of woodlands where marked trails invite guests to explore wildlife at its finest. This parkland area has species from around the world and ‘Skylands’ is a wonderful natural sanctuary and safe haven for the animals that reside there. There is a $5 parking fee per car at the State Park on Saturdays and Sundays.
Admission varies, so please visit the website for full details. To join in the Family Woodland Hike on Sunday, May 19, at 1:00 pm, please go to the New Jersey Botanical Garden’s Carriage House Visitor Center located at 2 Morris Road in Ringwood, New Jersey.
