Northvale area youth to step up to the plate

March 13, 2014 by

Young baseball and softball players from Northvale and other communities in Bergen County are invited to prepare themselves for the new season by participating in a weekend skills camp.

At the end of this month, Dick’s Sporting Goods will be hosting a series of training clinics just over the state line in Orangeburg, New York. Postcard printing may be on the increase as representatives from the company send out reminders to the athletes who have signed up for this event.

The camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of eight and 13. Participants will be placed in age categories and will practice batting, throwing, and fielding with coaches from the Baseball Factory or the Softball Factory. These instructors will offer personalized tips and help the athletes decide which types of bats are most suitable for their needs.

Parents will be encouraged to accompany their children to the camp. The coaches will be available to answer their questions and teach them about additional drills that they can try at home with their children.

Registration will cost $20 per participant. Each child who attends the camp will also receive a $20 gift card from Dick’s Sporting Good.

Multiple camp sessions will be available on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30. All activities will take place at the Little League complex at 200 Old Orangeburg Road. Those seeking additional information may call (724) 273-3816.
