Inaugural event comes to Northvale
October 27, 2012 by Sarah
An new annual event called ‘Trunk or Treat’ will be held by the Northvale Media Center and is designed as a way to ensure that young children have a safe and happy trick-or-treating good time. This potentially great family event will allow children to come and share a great time with friends and neighbors in one safe space.
This special event is an outdoor experience with a roped off area to let kids wander the parking lot from car-to-car collecting candy. Parents are asked to bring some candy and some chairs to sit in, so that all the little ghosts and goblins can come treating, or maybe even get tricked.
Guests are asked to decorate their vehicle and arrive in costumes. Every vehicle receives four bracelets, four snacks, and four beverage tickets. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. It would be a good idea to bring a blanket as there will be a scary movie, a haunted hayride, and a spooky bedtime story. Food can be purchased and proceeds will go to support the Media Center. Prizes will be awarded for best costume in age groups, as well as for best decorated vehicle.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to notify people about this safe Halloween event in all the neighborhoods in this community. Admission is $20 per vehicle or $5 for a bracelet without a vehicle per person in advance, or $8 the day of the event.
The 1st Annual Trunk or Treat will be happening on Wednesday, October 31, from 5:00 pm to 7:45 pm at the Northvale Borough Hall located at 116 Paris Avenue in Northvale, New Jersey. For more information, please visit the Northvale Media Center website or call 201-767-9631.
