Ski resort hosts breast cancer fundraiser
January 28, 2012 by Sarah
A fund raiser called “The Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series” will be held at Mountain Creek Ski Resort on the 21st of January, 2012. Last year the same event raised almost $40,000. Due to the popularity of the event, people from suburbs such as North Arlington and Newark are expected to make the journey to Vernon, New Jersey.
The event will offer attendees a true mountain-top experience. It features a snowshoe course, races, walks and other activities. People who have never snowshoed before will be pleased to learn that there are demonstrations for beginners. Approximately 45% of attendees will have no prior experience with snowshoes.
Those who are interested in attending will need to register at 9am. The registration booth will be held the Vernon Peak base Lodge. Registration ends at 1pm.
This event is a unique method of raising money for cancer. Despite its odd theme, it has proved to be very popular with New Jersey residents. Due to this, the company running the event should consider launching a small marketing campaign. For example using printing services to create flyers is an inexpensive method of generating some buzz. Many charitable organizations neglect to advertise their events properly. This is unfortunate as more visitors usually results in more donations. People who know what how the event is helping the cause it is supporting will be more likely to donate. This information can be easily relayed to attendees with brochures and other promotional material.
