Downtown West Orange to host annual street fair

Next month will see the return of the Downtown West Orange Street Fair, and residents of nearby North Arlington are sure to want to catch this annual event.

Planned for the street fair are a parachute ride, a beer and wine garden, food court, and an appearance from the Red Bulls Soccer team. There will also be over 100 vendors and robots as street performers, along with a free tour of the Thomas Edison Laboratory.

Presenters of the fair include the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, the Township of West Orange, and the Downtown West Orange Alliance. These organizations are sure to be collaborating on mailing services to create postcards and mailers to send to residents and those in surrounding communities, informing them of this special event.

Director of the Downtown West Orange Alliance, Megan Brill, said the highlight of organizing and planning the fair is working with the Edison Museum. The fair enables everyone in town to go to the museum as the admission is free along with free admission to the park where many of the activities of the day will take place.

Brill added that residents and others have the opportunity to spend some time in the downtown that they may not otherwise do, and also to meet the downtown residents and business owners.

The street fair will take place on June 3 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
