Magic in the air at Megan’s Place
December 23, 2012 by Sarah
Megan’s Place, a park in Hamilton, New Jersey, was created in honor of Megan Kanka, who died in a house that once existed on that spot. It is completely funded by the Megan’s Place Fund which holds fundraisers throughout the year to help maintain this community park. One such fundraising event which will be taking place this January is ‘Magic for Megan’.
The event will feature magician Matt Schick as emcee and a performance by John ‘Balloon Freak’ Cassidy, who performs magic and builds balloon creations with a comedic flair. The event is sponsored by the Robbinsville Hamilton Sunrise Rotary Club, the Robbinsville High School Interact Club, and the EarlyAct Club at Pond Middle School. It should be a fun event which will be made even more enjoyable due to the fact that it is raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
No doubt magic fans from all over the area, including nearby Cranbury, will want to attend this performance. It is very likely that organizers will be working with local printing companies to produce a flyer or a poster that will help to let the community know about the upcoming event – this could be distributed to public buildings or even mailed out to generate a buzz.
Magic for Megan will take place at the Robbinsville High School Performing Arts Center on January 19 beginning at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $12 for youth, although tickets for 12 or more are $10 each. For more information, call 609-575-3645.
