Sunday is Veterans’ Day, making it a long weekend for many, and there are a range of events and activities occurring in Fair Lawn this weekend. Most likely, the various organizations holding those events are using numerous printing services to make the community aware of what they can do this weekend.
On Saturday, November 9, in the afternoon, the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps, a group of volunteers that provides ambulance services for the borough of Fair Lawn, will be holding a basic first aid class. The class will cover how to perform basic first aid, such as the control of bleeding and bandaging, splinting, and administration of Epi-Pens.
Also on Saturday in the evening, at the Fair Lawn Community Center, the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club, a group that presents a broad selection of contemporary performers of folk music, will be holding a concert. Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante will be performing with Burning Bridget Cleary.
On Sunday, Temple Beth Sholom will host a special recognition program for veterans in the morning. There will be a Veterans Recognition Ceremony and guest speaker, Colonel Glenn H. Goldman, Director of Military Instruction the United States. It is free for veterans and includes a light breakfast.
Sunday will also see the Knights of Pythias at the Fair Lawn Community Center, holding an appraisal event to raise funds for the Naugle House restoration. Attendees can bring in items such as sports memorabilia, coins, jewelry, and paintings in for expert appraisal.
