A two-day course on QuickBooks will be taking place a week today at NJ Small Business Development Center at the College of New Jersey.

This course fills quickly, so it is advisable to register as soon as possible. It will teach participants how to organize their tax records for their business using the QuickBooks program.

The first step in the training will focus on accounting fundamentals, which includes getting to grips with terminology and an overview of financial statements.

The accounting theory will include demonstrations of the accounting software and how to implement and record data for each circumstance.

The second session will instruct participants in setting up the software for their particular business, including backing up information, inventorying assets, creating prices lists, and compiling customer and vendor lists. It will also include instruction on how to create customized business forms and logos, which can be reproduced for all types of business at a print company.

Everything culminates with instruction on properly tracking their businesses equity, income, assets, liabilities, and expenses. They will also learn the importance of keeping a tracking schedule for accounts receivables. A variety of business reports available through the software will also be covered.

The class will be led by Carla Fallone, the CEO of Fallone Business Resources and adjunct professor for the College of New Jersey. She has been instructing business owners on the QuickBooks program for 10 years and has been an entrepreneur for 23 years.

It begins at 8:30 am on Friday July 19. For more information, call (609) 771-2947.
