Techies can get plugged in for job fair
April 16, 2013 by James
Focusing on tech and IT positions across New Jersey, this conference is free for those seeking employment. Applicants will be able to meet with employers in person to promote their talents. There will also be resume writing assistance and career coaching, as well as recruiting companies on hand.
Job seekers need to register in advance by calling Job Fair Coordinator Terricka Johnson at (703) 544-2068. Preparation is often the key to finding a job, and those who arrive with professionally printed résumés and digital business cards can certainly give themselves an advantage.
The Edison Hotel is located at 3050 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison. The conference begins at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
On a similar note, ‘The Challenges and Opportunities of Women in Finance’ will be the topic of a seminar at the William Levine Hall-Ernes Mario School of Pharmacy, Room 111, 160 Frelinghuysen Road, Piscataway, New Jersey.
The event will be moderated by risk management expert Philippa Girling, an officer at Capital One Bank. The panel will also include women with extensive financial experience who discuss what drew them to the finance industry, they paths they have taken to get to the top, lessons they have learned, challenges they have faced, and misconceptions about women in the industry in general.
Admission is free, but seating is limited. Public transportation is recommended, as buses will transport participants to the lecture site. For more information, call (848) 445-6856.
