Finish July with 5K charity event

July 6, 2012 by

Although local printing companies have likely been hard at work producing flyer printing and poster printing in anticipation of this event, the Inaugural 5K Run and Walk is a cause that cannot be talked about enough.

Sponsored by the VFW POST, the Inaugural 5K Run and Walk will be giving people of all ages and fitness levels a chance to support a top-notch non-profit organization in the Wounded Warrior Project. The big day begins on July 29 with registration at 7:30 am and the actual run slated to begin at 9:00 am. From 10:00 am to noon, runners will be able to enjoy themselves afterwards during the After Party, with food and an Awards Presentation for the top three participants in each category.

As has been touched upon, the proceeds of this event will be going towards the Wounded Warrior Project. Catering to the needs of those who suffer injuries in the line of duty, this organization goes above and beyond in helping service members to recover mentally and physically, while also easing their transitions back into the civilian lifestyle. Participants in the 5K Run can be confident of the fact that their hard work is going towards improving the lives of injured military personnel.

Taking place right here in East Brunswick, this is a great chance to support the troops while also being physically active. Sitting at a cost of $20 for those who register before July 22 and $25 for those who register afterwards, this is going to be money well-spent.
