Books-A-Million changes sales approach

The chain bookstore has decided to change its plans for its new store in Mays Landing. The store had planned to use this location to sell and buy used books. However, due to customer feedback this New Jersey branch will sell brand new books.

The new shop is considered a superstore as it will occupy 20,000 square feet. In addition to selling books the shop will also serve coffee at its cafe Joe Muggs. This branch is due to open well before the Christmas period.

Residents of Mays Landing expressed a desire to have a premier bookstore in their area. While Books-a-Million operates more than 230 stores across America, the Mays Landing area was not well serviced. In fact shoppers had to head to smaller bookstores in locations such as Berlin and Cherry Hill to buy books. Thankfully consumers will no longer have this problem.

Opening a 20,000 foot store in the current economy is a brave move. Book sales across the nation are declining due to an increase in online shopping. Many people will be interested to see how long this store stays in business. In order to compete with online stores, brick and mortar stores need to have an aggressive marketing campaign. One method that has been successful for some businesses is utilizing printing services in order to create flyers, brochures, leaflets and vouchers. This type of marketing lets potential customers know where the store is and when it opens. It can also be used to advertise sales and holiday deals.
