Animal Fundraiser held in Bloomfield
December 22, 2011 by Mark
The Bloomfield animal shelter held its 2d Annual Trick Tray/Fundraiser on December the 1st. Attendees paid $45 for dinner, dessert, coffee, tea and valet parking. The goal of the night was to fund projects such as the medical fund, Bloomfield’s Trap and the Neuter and Return Program.
Attendees were also put in the draw to win some impressive prizes. Some of these prizes included a WII Bundle, a Sony flat screen television and a Coach bag. Larger prizes includes Jets tickets, mountain bikes and an iPad 2.
This event was an excellent way to raise funds for shelter animals. Animal shelters are notoriously underfunded. This often leaves them without the resources to properly care for the abandoned animals under their roof. Due to the recession many people have given up their pets as they were unable to afford upkeep. Most of these animals wind up in a shelter. Programs such as the Neuter and Return scheme will stop more unwanted dogs from being born into a unpleasant environment.
The success of these events is usually reliant on the number of people attendees who are able to donate to the cause. One way to attract these guests is to market the event. Simple marketing methods such as using printing services to print flyers can help improve event awareness. Many charities will not market events as marketing and advertising costs money. However, it is important to remember that if used correctly marketing can make them more money in the long run.
