Independence Day festival returns to Richland

June 29, 2013 by

The 25th annual Independence Day Festival is taking place this July in Richland, shortly after July 4 itself. It is a presentation of the Buena Vista Township Special Events Committee.

A parade will start off the festivities, followed by opening ceremonies. Events taking place will include the Little Miss and Little Mister Buena Vista Township Contest for children aged two to six years of age. Music will be provided by such acts as the First Highland Watch and DJ Nicky G.

Other attractions will include a magic display, plenty of food, crafts, and souvenirs for sale, kids’ crafts and games, and artist demonstrations. It should be a great family-friendly celebration with activities to appeal to everyone regardless of their age.

Artists and crafters will likely be selling such items as clothing, home decorations, ceramics, paintings, jewelry, and pottery. No doubt vendors will come from all over the area, including nearby Berlin, to participate in the festival and to showcase and sell their unique, handmade items. They will likely be investing in services such as banner printing and postcard printing from local print companies, especially since many artists use postcards as a large format business card since they have a large frontal area to provide a sample of their works and lots of room for contact information on the back.

The Independence Day Festival will take place at Michael Debbi Park on July 6 from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information, contact the Buena Vista Township at 856-697-2100 or 609-561-5650.
