Long-running art festival to illuminate Albuquerque
November 2, 2012 by James
Weems International Artfest, which returns this month, started 30 years ago as a small crafts and art show and has blossomed over the years into a renowned national juried art showcase that features novice artists, professional artists, and collectors looking for their next great piece of artwork.
The emphasis of this showcase is the high quality, the variety of work, and the wide price ranges. The committee that selects the art has a commitment to showcase new artisans alongside the country’s finest artists.
The exhibit is very relaxed and offers additional activities for adults and children, with many being educational. Children’s ArtSMart offers kids’ learning activities and there are also artists’ demonstrations, art booths by students, displays by the Albuquerque museums, and various other philanthropic venues. The festival is a true New Mexico tradition enjoyed every year by people looking for family-friendly fun.
Poster printing, brochure printing, postcard printing, and flyer printing may have been used to advertise and promote the Artfest to the residents in this community and surrounding regions. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and children are free.
The Weems International Artfest will be occurring from Friday, November 9 through Sunday, November 11 at the Expo New Mexico, located at 300 San Pedro NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The show will start at 10:00 am on each day and will conclude on Friday at 9:00 pm, Saturday at 6:00 pm, and Sunday at 5:00 pm.
