Balloons to start the weekend with a bang
October 3, 2012 by Mark
Albuquerque’s ‘International Balloon Fiesta’ is one of the renowned attractions for kids of all ages. This fiesta has been happening now for three decades, always on the first week of October, and brings along with it tasty foods, balloons, and plenty more.
The balloon fiesta lasts for nine full days in October, painting New Mexico’s skies with a sea of colorful balloons lifting off from Albuquerque’s Balloon Fiesta Park. This year, as in past years, hundreds of these giant balloons will lift off and drift overhead.
The festival brings people from around the world and, to accompany this great event, there will be a city-wide celebration, featuring roasted chilies, games, activities, entertainment, and much more to delight visitors. During the evening hours, many of the balloons glow and create a magical night time landscape that is truly awe-inspiring. For balloon lovers, this fiesta is an annual pilgrimage that combines great food, inspiring sites, and fun for the whole family.
Digital flyer printing might have been one of the methods used to highlight the festival to balloon-enthusiasts who are members of the Albuquerque community itself or one of the nearby communities. Admission is $8 per person and everyone is welcome to come along and see this ballooning extravaganza.
The International Balloon Fiesta runs from this Saturday, October 6, to October 14, at the Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Times vary from day to day, so it would be advisable to consult the Balloon Fiesta website or call 821-1000 for detailed information.
