The 4th annual National Entrepreneurship Week takes place on the first week of February. In order to celebrate, several organizations such as the Small Business Administration, the Vermont Small Business Development Center and Johnson State College are hosting Vermont Entrepreneurship Day in Montpelier.

The theme of this year’s event is “Spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship.” The day will begin with displays from local entrepreneurs at the Statehouse from 7:30 – 9:00 AM followed by a breakfast that will be hosted by area students in the cafeteria. Next the event will open with a proclamation from the Governor followed by the recognizing of four local entrepreneurs and the announcement of the winners of the high school technical center visual media competition.

The competition was for students in grades 9 through 12 who were asked to create items based on the theme of entrepreneurship. Submissions were made in two categories: Computer generated poster, which had to be 11 x 15 inches in size, and public service announcement video. The winners will receive cash prizes.

This event should be of interested to entrepreneurs from all over the area, including nearby Hinesburg. Organizers may invest in services such as flyer printing to help spread the word about this important event. The flyers can then be distributed to various public buildings, schools and government building.

Vermont Entrepreneurship Day is taking place at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier on February 5 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. To learn more about the event call 802-922-2692.
