Festival will highlight the arts in Vermont

The Vermont Festival of the Arts is taking place throughout Mad River Valley for the entire month of August. The festival is a presentation of the Valley Arts Foundation.

Over 120 events are planned for the Mad River Valley area during the month. This will include visual arts exhibits, theatrical productions, literary events, film showings and food events. Some events planned are Taste of the Valley, Art in the Garden, and a Festival picnic.

As well as these, the Big Red Barn Art Show will feature over 30 local artists, and genres of art displayed will include etchings, monoprints, and sculptures. The show will kick off with a ‘meet the artists reception’. The Festival picnic, meanwhile, will include music, games and a spectacular fireworks display and take place at Lareau Farm Inn on August 4 from 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

The various events are listed in a festival program that will be distributed throughout the area to towns such as nearby Hinesburg, or mailed out to those who request it. No doubt the organizers have worked with local printing companies to produce the 10,000 copies of the program that are usually produced for the event.

The Vermont Festival of the Arts will take place from August 1 to September 2, and the 16th annual Big Red Barn Art Show will take place at the Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield every Thursday through Sunday in August. The opening reception will take place on August 4 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
