Burlington festival brings gift-buying ideas

November 11, 2012 by

As we move into November, many people are now beginning to think of what gifts they want to buy for their family or friends for the various upcoming holidays. With several arts and crafts shows being held in the country that can guarantee original and treasured gifts, Burlington has one coming up that is as good as any.

The 2012 Women’s Festival of Crafts features 50 craftswomen and will be spread over three floors of Burlington City Hall. It will offer a wide variety of handmade and unique items which will be offered for sale, such as homemade greeting cards, jewelry, pottery, gourmet food items, clothing, hats, glass, and handmade soaps. There is sure to be something that will appeal to almost everyone, even the fussiest people. It will also be a good opportunity for area residents to discover a local artisan from whom they might want to buy in the future.

Those who wish to sell their items at the festival can rent an 8 x 6 foot space for $125. It is up to the vendors themselves to bring tables, chairs, and tablecloths. All those who register receive a poster and several postcards to distribute to interested parties. Organizers, who will more than likely be expecting vendors from all over the region, including nearby Hinesburg, will no doubt be availing themselves of local postcard printing services in advance.

The 23rd annual Women’s Festival of Crafts will take place at Burlington City Hall from November 24 – 25. Admission is free and those interested can contact Megan at 864-7528 or Moe at 264-9820 to find out more.
