Doo wop day not far away
July 13, 2013 by Sarah
The Corvettes’ ‘Doo Wop Review’ has been designed to perform and preserve the music from the 1950s doo wop period – a era that some people consider to be when the greatest music was made.
The Corvettes have performed across the United States and bring a fresh lively energy to their show. Poster printing, brochure printing, and banner printing may have been used to spread the word to the people in this area about this nostalgic performance.
Following in the footsteps of legendary groups, such as Sha Na Na, the Corvettes always look to give a celebration of the era rather than just a standard performance. They have toured with other doo wop groups including the Danny and the Juniors, The Tokens, The Drifters, The Shirelles, and The Platters. Some of the songs that are likely to be performed include ‘Runaround Sue’, ‘Shake Rattle and Roll’, and ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On’. The audience is likely to enjoy itself as it travels back to the days of early rock and roll.
Tickets are $20 per adult, $15 per senior over 65, and $5 per student. The performance will take place on Saturday, August 3, beginning at 7:30pm at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, Fryeburg Academy, located at 745 Main Street in Fryeburg, Maine – just 20 minutes from North Conway, New Hampshire. To learn more about this event, or to purchase tickets, please visit the Fryeburg Academy website or call the box office at 207-935-9232.
