Peabody Petco to Host Catmobile
February 2, 2013 by Mark
Cat-owners in the area will have two opportunities to have their felines examined both this month and next, as the Catmobile comes to Peabody.
The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) operates and staffs the Catmobile with a licensed DVM and two qualified veterinary technicians. It provides a budget-friendly spay and neuter option exclusively for felines over the age of 12 weeks, and weighing at least 3.4 lbs. Included is a comprehensive examination, spaying or neutering procedure, rabies shots, nail clipping, and a flea and ear mite treatment.
The spaying and neutering packages for domestic cats cost $100 and $75, respectively. The fee for feral cats is $35.00, which includes ear tipping. There are no restrictions – this service is available to everyone.
MRFRS is a non-profit organization staffed completely by volunteers. This nationally recognized association is dedicated to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of both domestic and feral kittens and cats. The MRFRS achieves its goal through the advancement of practical, kindhearted, no-kill agendas.
Flyers and banners can be printing out from the Catmobile website to display in central Massachusetts or southern New Hampshire neighborhoods. Those particularly keen to get the message across could take them to a local printing company to get enlarged, professionally printed copies.
The MRFRS Catmobile will be in the parking lot of the Peabody Petco at 10 Sylvan Street on January 31, February 7 and 21, as well as March 7 and 21, and will be an all-day event
There is a non-negotiable $60 fee for picking up your animal late, and those interested are asked to register early by calling 978-465-1940 or visiting the website.
