Melrose restaurant veterans move to Malden

November 3, 2016 by

Fresco’s Roast Beef & Seafood recently opened in Malden, in the space that was once occupied by Zinga Frozen Yogurt.

Siblings George Lambos and Voula DaSilva are the co-owners, and restaurant ownership is in the family since their uncle and mother owned the Melrose Liberty Bell Restaurant from 2004 until 2015. Working as a manager at the restaurant, Lambos decided to open his own restaurant when his mother sold the Liberty Bell.

The name of the restaurant “fresco” is derived from the Greek word meaning “fresh”. In living up to its namesake, Lambos and DaSilva serves scallops, clams, salmon, and other fish purchased on a daily basis, in addition to slow-roasted beef and prime cuts of meat.

Also on the menu are a variety of both regular and club sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pastas. A special kids’ menu is also available, as are both hot and cold subs.

Fresco’s Roast Beef & Seafood is open seven days a week with hours of 10:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on Sunday. Between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm Lambos and DaSilva will be donating 10% of their sales through weekly fundraisers so as to give back to their new community.

They might also benefit from the assistance of a local print company to promote their use of fresh ingredients and their daily and weekly specials.
